Barbara Oliver, founding artistic director of Berkeley’s Aurora Theatre Company, selected Mama Don’t Allow, The Musical, for a staged reading—and singing and dancing—in 2003.  Mama Don’t Allow, The Musical, based on Thacher Hurd’s popular children’s book of the same name, was directed by Jeffrey Bihr, with music direction by Ellen Hoffman.
